Alya Society Holds Inspirational Women’s Day Event
Last Friday, March 11th, Madrid’s recently launched international club, Alya Society , celebrated International Womens Day in a fabulous and friendly event that took place at the Intercontinental Hotel in Madrid.
From its small beginning in 1911 when it was first held the IWD is now a global event celebrated across the world.
The theme for 2022 is #BreakTheBias.
Under the captivating title of, WHO INSPIRES YOU? the objective of the meeting was to offer the attendees a series of inspirational talks by outstanding female professionals from various sectors who demonstrate achievements with a proven social commitment in favor of women, their role and their place within society.
The event which was celebrated with a brunch, was inaugurated by the club’s founder and president, Nehad Sharaf.
After briefing the audience about the meeting’s agenda, Nehad introduced Alya’s ambassador and Spain’s gentlemen icon, Mr. Spain 2020-2021, Manu Romo, who later presented the guest speakers for the day.
The list of guest speakers included, H.E. Ms. Ana Helena Chacón Echeverría, Ambassador of Costa Rica to Spain, H.E. Ms. Monica Bolaños Pérez, Ambassador of Guatemala to Spain, Marta Muñiz Ferrer, CEO, President of Schiller International University, Gracia Sánchez Del Real, CEO Infinity Group and President at Woman Leader, Eva Sierra Carballo, CEO Catering Spain and Uliana Torkunova, Founder & CEO LetMePark.
The meeting also saw a brief presentation about women’s presence in the Tech industry, by Alya Society’s ambassador, Carmen Ramirez, Demand Generation Leader at Amazon Web Services.
The inspirational stories that held the audience spellbound, shared the factor of coincidence, highlighting training, learning, commitment, courage, self-confidence, together with the support of the family and team were cornerstones of these fascinating stories, where many men have also had an important role.
Among the attendees list which included Alya’s members, ambassadors and guests, were also Alya’s partners represented in the world-class luxury brands, Bvlgari, Oliver Peoples, Clinique La Prairie, Christofle and Lopan Hair, in addition to Europe’s talented jewelry designer and gemstone expert, Lisi Fracchia.
