Hooded Neo Nazis Attack Spain Fans Watching World Cup In Bar

This is the shocking moment 10 hooded assailants storm onto a bar terrace and set about drinkers with metal bars and expandable batons before fleeing on foot.

The CCTV footage shows the incident at the Eatalian bar-restaurant in the town of Berriozar, in the Spanish region of Navarre, on 19th July.

The video shows the attackers, dressed in black with their faces covered, rushing at a table where military personnel from the nearby Aizoain barracks were watching the football World Cup final between Spain and Argentina.

Wielding baseball bats, metal bars and extendable batons, they also hurled tables and chairs at those present and smashed windows and furniture before running off.

At least six people were hurt, among them three military personnel, with one suffering an open head wound and several broken ribs, while a woman was left with a broken nose.

Some victims were treated on the scene by paramedics, while others were taken to hospital, sources within the Guardia Civil said.

No arrests had been made at the time of writing.

Witnesses said one of the customers on the terrace was wearing a T-shirt of the neo-Nazi party Nucleo Nacional.

The Guardia Civil and the regional Policia Foral are investigating jointly, with the case now before the courts.

Javier Remirez, first vice president of the Navarre regional executive, expressed his “most absolute condemnation” of the attack.

He said: “On a night of happiness and coexistence, there is no room for expressions of violence and intolerance.”

Unai Hualde, president of the Parliament of Navarre, also condemned the attack, saying: “The Parliament is a temple of coexistence.

“We must advocate that each person celebrates peacefully whatever they wish, and therefore attitudes like the ones we saw yesterday are absolutely reprehensible and must be condemned.”

Sergio Sayas, general secretary of the Navarrese People’s Party (PPN), branded the incident a “savagery” and accused Navarre president Maria Chivite of soft-pedalling extremism.

Maria Caballero, a senator for Union del Pueblo Navarro (UPN), described the assault as “pure and simple violence” that “has no place in a democratic state”.

Spain went on to win the tournament in extra time.
