Stray Cow Gives Bar Customers A Fright
Its summer and strange things happen in the Spanish heat.
This is the moment a stray cow ambles through the front door of a bar and wanders towards the back of the room as stunned patrons look on before a waiter turns the animal around and ushers it back out onto the street.
CCTV footage shows the incident on 20th July, in the village of Ribes de Freser, in the Spanish province of Girona.
The video shows the cow entering the Bar Gusi shortly before 9 am, walking past the bar counter and heading towards an elderly couple seated at the rear, before a member of staff steps in and guides the animal back towards the entrance.
The cow remained inside the premises for less than 20 seconds and left through the same door by which it had entered, without causing any injuries or damage.
There were reportedly around 15 people inside the bar at the time, along with several other customers seated on the terrace.
The animal reportedly belonged to a livestock farm known as La Torre, and had wandered off from a herd that regularly passes in front of the establishment as the cattle are moved between fields in nearby Campelles and the farm.
The farmer tending to the herd reportedly followed the cow into the bar moments after it entered.
The owner of Bar Gusi, David Torrecillas, said: “Thank God, the cow didn’t hurt anyone.”
Torrecillas also said it is not unusual to see cattle passing through the area, though on this occasion one of the cows broke away from the group and headed straight for the bar.
