Star Strikers Home Burgled During Liga Match
Former Manchester United and Chelsea striker Radamel Falcao’s home in Madrid has been broken into and plundered while he was on the pitch.
Police believe the crooks targeted the Rayo Vallecano forward after checking the team’s fixtures for 30th September.
The 37 year old Columbian strike is nicknamed “El Tigre” (The Tiger), is considered one of the best strikers and players of his generation.
A maid working at the player’s upmarket mansion in Madrid’s exclusive El Plantio neighbourhood surprised the crooks, two hooded thugs, but they managed to flee before the police arrived, according to local media.
The crooks fled with what is believed to be a fortune in high-end watches, jewellery and a number of luxury bags belonging to the Colombian star’s wife, Lorelei Taron.
Falcao, 37, reported the theft to police later the same day.
Ironically, he had just scored his first goal of 2023 with Rayo Vallecano against Mallorca after a long scoring drought.
The match ended in a 2-2 draw and he then took his wife and children out to dinner but was interrupted during the meal when he was alerted to the break-in, according to reports.
The robbery came just days after crooks targeted Sevilla FC star Sergio Ramos’ home.
Spanish National Police are investigating the burglary.
At the time of writing, no arrests had been reported.
