British Couple Raffle Off Their Tenerife Villa

A British couple from Tyne and Wear are raffling off their €430,000 Tenerife home for just €2.80 a ticket.

Gina and Wayne Ironside have lived in the villa in the Adeje area of Tenerife for seven years with their two children, Louis and Poppy.

Gina said: “We came to Tenerife mainly for the climate and we thought it was a great place to bring up small children, which it is and we wouldn’t change it for the world, they have had a great childhood here. They have gone to an amazing school.

“My son is now back in the UK at college and has also landed himself a little job.

“This is the main reason for going back full time but it will also be great to spend more time with our family.

“My daughter would also like to get into nursing when she finishes her education.”

The semi-detached villa is located on a large corner plot with gardens that provide outdoor living space with a built in Jacuzzi, dining area, communal gardens with outdoor pools.

Gina said: “I have heard in the past of people who have raffled their house and this idea really appealed to me”.

The organisers of the raffle are local firm Prize Villas who specialise in property raffles.

“It has made it so much easier to run the raffle by teaming with them to carry out the hosting and marketing,” said Gina.

The competition runs from November 16 to March 16 2021 with 230,000 tickets available at 2.50 GBP per ticket which would allow a total of 575,000 pounds sterling if all tickets were sold.

Gina said: “I believe my villa is is worth around €430,000 but I am leaving it fully furnished and practically ready to move into, so I receive the amount of €440,000.

“The extra amount will cover the marketing, advertising and associated purchase costs, plus buyer taxes for the winner”.

With the proceeds of the sale the couple hope to be able to buy a smaller holiday home in Tenerife so that they “can continue to visit this beautiful island as much as possible”.

She added: “We have had seven happy years in our home and would “certainly miss it.”
