Madrid Centre Gastro Stage For 36th Salon Gourmet
Madrid takes centre stage as the gastronomic capital with the opening of Salón Gourmets, the largest fair for fine foods and beverages in Europe and one of the most prestigious in the world.
The 36th annual trade fair is being held at IFEMA MADRID runs from 17th to 20th April and includes a packed programme of activities that will include contests, tastings, presentations, display cooking and conferences.
Over 2,000 exhibitors will be displaying and promoting some 55,000 products from cheeses to wines, meats and dishes from around Spain and the world to showcase to the expected 100,000 trade and professional visitors expected.
The Gourmets Fair “is the most visited by national and international professionals in the gastronomic sector: restaurants, hotels, distributors, catering and specialized wholesalers and retailers”.
The fair features an exciting programme of activities including jamon cutting, wine tasting, beer pouring competition as well as cooking master classes among many others.
It is expected that the 2023 event will exceed the rescheduled 2021 event (held exceptionally in October last year due to the pandemic) which was in itself a resounding success, attended by 79,914 professionals and featured 1548 exhibitors.
Madrid´s regional premier, Isabel Diaz Ayuso, is expected to attend the launch on Monday to promote Madrid´s regional cuisine and food industry.
