Police Swoop On Swedish Murder For Hire Gang
The Spanish National Police have arrested a Swedish gang that tasked minors with assassinations and bombings with footage showing one of the suspects being detained by armed cops in the street.
The arrest took place in Benalmadena, in the Andalucian city of Malaga, with the footage also showing the police raiding a flat and searching it for evidence.
The images were obtained from Spain’s National Police on 20th November along with a statement saying: “An organisation dedicated to recruiting minors from Sweden and Denmark to commit murders and attacks with explosives has been dismantled.
“The potential assassins were recruited through a Telegram channel.
“The operation began with the arrest of a minor in Benalmadena (Malaga), who had been recruited by this group.”
The criminal network reportedly included a married couple and their underage son, who, together with the father, played a key role in recruiting and paying other minors to commit murders.
The Spanish police said that the operation was a result of “a joint investigation with Sweden and Denmark, coordinated by EUROPOL and the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation, and that the operation was co-financed using European funds.”
