Man Sets Car Rental Company On Fire In Ibiza Resort
This is the moment a man sets a store in Ibiza on fire leading to EUR 400,000 of damage and several people being injured.
The footage, obtained from the Spanish Guardia Civil, was filmed in the popular holiday resort of Playa d’en Bossa on 19th October.
The video shows the suspect approaching the store and sneaking inside before the images cut to the building on fire with black smoke rising into the air as the inferno rips through the building.
The target was reportedly a car rental company bus the fire also damaged a cafe next door.
The fire also spread to neighbouring residential buildings, according to German media, who said that the suspect, a 48-year-old German citizen who has not been named, was later arrested.
A number of victims were treated at the scene by paramedics and one local was taken to hospital.
Investigators say that no one suffered serious injury.
It is currently unclear why the suspect set fire to the car rental company.
He faces up to six years in prison if convicted of arson under Spanish law.
The investigation is ongoing.
