38,000 Brave Rain For Women´s Charity Run
A record 38,000 Madrileñas braved today´s Sunday showers to participate in the annual Carrera de la Mujer charity run.
This year, the Race´s 38th edition, is one of the most popular charity fun runs in the European racing calendar, “harnessing the power of sporting events for a greater social good” with runs also organised across Spain in cities such as Barcelona, Sevilla and Valencia.
The heart of the capital was once more transformed into a sea of pink as runners from the ages of 8 to 80 took to Madrid´s streets to increase awareness for the fight against breast cancer.
The 90 minute run sees runners and walkers complete the almost 7km route from Nuevos Ministerios along the Paseo de la Castellana finishing in the Paseo de Camoens in Oeste Park.
