An Ode To Cadiz
Ode to Cadiz by Michael Duncan.
My fair Cadiz
What it lacks from the hills
It provides from the seas
At ease in Cadiz
The shade of the orange trees
An incomparable space
A constitutional place
In Cadiz
Good things come in threes
Tapas, Jerez and Sardines
But the oranges do not me please
In Cadiz
Pretty things come in threes
Ines, Sofia and Beatriz
Los Mujeres de gran felice
Cadiz, it makes sense
It’s tidal cadence
But It’s time to ‘Salida’
On the ‘tren a Sevilla’
My fair Cadiz
Leaving your shores feels like a disease
Andalucia or the staid ‘Ingleese’?
Where then should my future be?
Ode to Cádiz
My fair Cádiz
Gades, that is,
I need a ’tarjeta’
Back to La Caleta
