Madrid Leads Spain New Covid Outbreaks

As the third week after the end of the state of emergeny and lockdown ends, Madrid is now the Spanish region with the highest number of new coronavirus cases.

There have been significant new outbreaks in Catalunia with the town Segriá with the  highest number of new coronavirus cases.

In Madrid  22 new cases have been registered in two outbreaks – one at a family gathering and the other from a workplace.  All are under observation and in self isolation.

On a national scale the Health Minister Salvador Illa that there were  73 new cases out of a total of  241 registered active cases in 15 of the 17 autonomous communities.

Madrid has to date registered 72,168 cases of whom 8439 have died out of a national toll of 300,988 cases and 28,403 fatalities.
