“Six Of The Best” Most Popular 2026 Teambuilding Activities In Madrid

Over recent years Madrid has been consolidating its position as one of the worlds´s leading business destinations for meetings and corporate events.

With Madrid´s Barajas Airport now a leading global transport hub, the Spanish capital offers excellent infrastructure, hotel and meeting venues for company offsites and corporate conferences.

We assess some of the most popular team-building activities in Madrid by teamed up with leading corporate event organiser Madrid Adventures to look at “Six of the Best” team building activities in Madrid.

According to Madrid Adventures founder, Olaf Clayton, the Spanish capital is “just coming into its own” after so many years lagging behind other business city destinations.

“It’s Madrid´s golden age,” says Clayton who founded the company in 1999 on moving to Spain. It is the only European capital with a UNESCO World Heritage site slap bang in its heart.

As well it offers its traditional Spanish hospitality at prices which are still far off London or Paris.

So, what works for teambuilding?

According to Olaf Clayton, team bonding is an important component, and managers are acutely aware of what makes their team tick and will choose activities that reflect that.

A lot of team conferences are situated in non-descript business areas or around IFEMA and the airport which is fine for meeting but less so for enjoying all that Madrid can offer.

“It’s like the football teams that play in stadiums in some of the most iconic cities in Europe but only get to see the pitch and hotel” says Clayton.

“We try and get a mix so that teams can enjoy and experience Madrid as well as achieve their team bonding goals”.

Here are “Six of the Best” most popular team-building activities for 2026

  1. Gastro Team Activities

According to Olaf Clayton, Madrid´s gastro scene is now second to none – with traditional Castilian cuisine mixing with other Spanish regions, Med and International fusion to put Madrid very much on the European gastro scene.

Whether Tapas & Wine Tours which blend discovery of some of Madrid´s many hidden corners as well as pairing iconic Spanish dishes with regional wines from across the country.

It’s a very strong bonding experience bringing teams together to “break bread” as well as creating memorable experiences of Madrid´s historic quarter.

For those that prefer a more hands on experience – cooking is right in with Team Cuisine a firm favourite as teams compete against each other to create their own signature tapas dishes.

  1. The Amazing Race is the second-most popular team-building activity in Madrid, according to bookings from Madrid Adventures.

The activity which is based on the CBS TV show of the same is similar but not the same as a treasure hunt. The goal is to get to the finish line first!

Teams compete against each other – using any means available to get across Madrid, overcoming challenges and check points as they navigate their route to be first to the finish line.

  1. Lego Challenge – Everyone loves Lego – in fact it’s the most popular conference ice-breaker activity in Madrid. Teams have different challenges that range from the simple “Build the Tower” to the amazing Madrid Team Logo contest. Everyone is a winner!

4. Money Heist– Madrid´s own Netflix blockbuster comes to life in the long awaited super sequel as “El Profesor” returns to choose the ultimate team for the next big Gig! But first they must be chosen through a series of team testing challenges.

5. Excursions across the region including Segovia or Toledo visits and treasure hunt – Madrid is blessed to have some of Spain´s most important medieval cities on its doorstep – steeped in the history of the Iberian Peninsula and both UNESCO World Heritage cities – they are the perfect backdrop to team treasure hunts to find the secrets of Olde Spain – and after a Castilian team meal to remember.

6. Murder Mystery Dinner – A sumptuous team dinner in old Madrid has been organised but something goes very wrong! While guests are mingling unawares, sinister events are unfolding nearby – a chilling murder takes place within earshot but out of sight… But the evening moves on and your guests move to what believe will be a lovely soiree and dinner….and the evening unfolds….

Madrid Adventures also organises a range of other options such as conference energisers and gala dinners in some of Madrid´s most exclusive venues as well as team offsite meetings across Spain & Portugal.
