Basketball King´s Cup To Be Decided In Madrid This Weekend

The 2021 Copa del Rey will be held at the WiZink Centre in Madrid between the 11th and 14th February.

The prestigious basketball knockout tournament will be held behind closed doors due to ongoing covid – related health protocols.

The last eight teams to make the quarter-finals come from all over Spain and will see Real Madrid against Valencia Basket and Iberostar Tenerife against Hereda San Pablo Burgos in two clashes scheduled for 11 February.

The following day sees Barça against Unicaja, and TD Systems Baskonia against Club Joventut Badalona.

The winners from each quarter final then go forward to the semi-final on Saturday and the cup decider on Sunday 14th February.

The King’s Cup dates back to 1933 and is one of the key trophies in Spanish basketball.

As in football, favourites Real Madrid and Barcelona have both lifted the title in all of the last twelve finals and could well do so again if they overcome rivals such as Baskonia and Valencia.
