German Pensioner Pulled Over For 3 KPH Motorway Crawl
This is the roll-with-it moment an 80-year-old holidaymaker in an electric wheelchair trundles down a 80 kph motorway at walking pace as cars race past him.
Terrifying footage of the German national’s ride on Majorca’s MA-1 motorway emerged after one astonished driver filmed his two-mile trip on the holiday island’s fastest road.
The clip shows the wheelchair bumping along the hard shoulder at just 3kph as cars zip past in on the motorway with a 120kph speed limit.
And the driver’s only concession to safety is that he has got his hazard lights flashing.
Spanish police intercepted the wheelchair rider after one worried motorist tipped them off.
He told officers, local media reported on 18th November, that he had been trying to get to an old folks’ home where his friend lives but got lost.
Police escorted him off the motorway but it is unclear if he was fined or charged with traffic offences.
