English-language television programme expands its national reach through Canal 33 Madrid

Good Morning Spain, the English-language television programme created to help international residents and visitors better understand and connect with Spain, will begin broadcasting in Madrid on Monday 7 September at 10am on Canal 33, with repeats throughout the week.

The move into the Spanish capital marks an important milestone for a programme that began on the Costa del Sol and is produced and recorded weekly at the Hard Rock Hotel Marbella.

CANAL 33 MADRID

Canal 33 is an established Madrid local television station with more than 30 years of history. It is directed by journalist Enrique Riobóo, who has spent decades working in Madrid local media and is also a member of the Academia de Televisión.

WHY MADRID?

Madrid is an especially relevant audience for Good Morning Spain.

More than 1.06 million residents of Madrid were born outside Spain, representing 30.5% of the city’s population, almost one in three people.

The capital is also one of Europe’s major international destinations. During the first six months of 2026, Madrid welcomed more than 5.6 million visitors, of whom 3.34 million were international.

Good Morning Spain combines practical information about living in Spain with travel, culture, food, legal matters, property, healthcare and everyday Spanish life.

Its objective, summed up in the programme’s strapline “Helping people connect with Spain”, is not only to inform international residents, but to encourage greater understanding and integration into Spanish life.

The Madrid launch comes as Good Morning Spain reaches programme 152 and approaches its third anniversary on 28 September 2026.

EXPANDING ACROSS SPAIN

Originally broadcasting through 7TV Andalucía, Good Morning Spain is now extending its television footprint with Almería TV, Canal 1 Mar Menor–Torre Pacheco in Murcia and Canal 33 Madrid, while discussions continue with broadcasters in other areas of Spain.
