Madrid Severe Heat Warning As Summer Arrives

The Spanish State meteorological agency AEMET  (Agencia Estatal de Meteorología)  office for Madrid has issued severe heat warning for much of southern and central Spain with temperatures hovering at the 40 degree level for much of the week and expected to exceed that by the weekend.

Madrid received a Yellow Warning for today 29th June from 1200 to 2100 local time.

The Madrid local government issued further warning for parks and open space restrictions due to the severe heat.

The Madrid regional government also issued warnings of forest fires in the Sierra de Madrid.
