Police Hunt Attacker After British School Pupil Stabbed

The National Police are appealing for information following the stabbing of a seven-year-old boy who was returning to his school campus after a PE class in the Chamberi district of Madrid, yesterday, Friday 10th December.

The police say they are looking for a middle-aged man who was seen in the area, following the attack close to the Hasting School campus on Calle Bendicion de Camposin.

According to witnesses, the children were in a line to return to the school, when the ” well dressed” assailant attacked the last child and threw him to the ground, stabbing him, before fleeing the scene.

The youngster was rushed to La Paz hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.

The school issued a statement confirming the incident and stating that the boy “is now in a stable condition in hospital.”

Hasting School, which was founded in 1971, is part of the Cognita educational group and offers British curriculum schooling.
