“Six Of The Best” Madrid Airport Hotels
Six of the Best” Airport Hotels in Madrid
For some people coming to Madrid, staying near the airport is a far better option than staying downtown. Whether you’re travelling for business, with children, or your flight lands in the middle of the night, perhaps you might consider lodging near Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport – many offer complimentary airport shuttles to add to the attraction as well as benefiting from summer open air pools.
Not only is it convenient, the village of Barajas has a charming centre complete with rustic restaurants and tapas bars. In addition close is the ‘Parque de Juan Carlos I’ which offers open spaces, golf and family fun. From Barajas there are direct links into the city centre, and in less than 30 minutes you can be gazing at some of Madrid´s famous landmarks such as Retiro Park, Puerta del Sol, and countless others.
We have compiled a list of the best hotels at Madrid airport. Sit back, relax, and check out what’s on offer!
Sercotel Madrid Aeropuerto
One thing about not staying so central is that hotels have more space for bigger pools, and Sercotel Madrid exemplify this. Their pool is plenty big and has lounging areas around it (plus a terrace) so when you have time to relax, you have somewhere to go! They also have a fitness centre, sauna, a golf course nearby, live sporting events broadcasted, and a shuttle bus to and from the hotel. Each room has beautiful wooden floors and classy decor. The rooms are very family friendly with bunk beds for kids. We should note as well, they are pet-friendly, so for those travelling with their animals this is the perfect place for you!
Crowne Plaza Madrid Airport
The Crowne Plaza offers a 24-hour shuttle service from the airport and are guaranteed to impress from the moment you enter the building. Each of the 125 rooms is air-conditioned, has a flat screen TV and minibar, and secure safes. They put a huge emphasis on dining and excel at Spanish food. Take a ‘cafe con leche’ at their Cafe, some tapas at their bar, and top of the day with some Mediterranean Cuisine at their restaurant. Even if you are in Madrid on a busy business trip, the Crowne Plaza ensures you will be able to enjoy your downtime like a Spanish local. You can also work-out in their fitness center which overlooks their terrace. For busy businesspeople, or people catching connecting flights and need a place to stay, this hotel is perfect.
Hotel Villa de Barajas
Two words – location and comfort!! Hotel Villa de Barajas is just 250 meters away from the local metro and 1km from the airport. The entrance to the hotel invites excitement, with the bright lights and plants, radiating a ‘home away from home’ atmosphere. They have parking, a terrace, bars, and breakfast on offer. Each room has lovely warm colours and flat-screen TVs. This hotel offers a great budget option to those who want to stay near the airport. For those who want a more ‘homely’ vibe, and need quick access to the city center, Hotel Villa de Barajas is made for you!
Ibis Madrid Aeropuerto Barajas
Another option for those travelling on a budget. Ibis Madrid Aeropuerto Barajas is a low-cost, 2-star hotel, yet offers great value for money. The public areas of the hotel are filled with graphics, something like ‘cool graffiti’, and are also filled with bright colours. The rooms themselves are compact, basic, but have everything you need to have a good stay. Enjoy flat screen TVs, fast reliable Wifi, and desks for if you have some work to do. They serve breakfast from 4.30am – perfect for those coming in on early flights who need a bite to eat. Also, as if this wasn’t accommodating enough, they have a free shuttle bus from the airport!
Melia Barajas
This 4-star, classy hotel caters to every type of guest, and has every amenity you could imagine. Our first impression was brilliant – walking through the lobby with indoor plants hanging from the ceiling, accompanied with hanging lights gave it a luxurious vibe. The swimming pool is as good as you will ever find. It is L-shaped, huge, and at nighttime is illuminated with lights around it. They have a fantastic restaurant, but for those who want an even greater food offering, check out the BBQ in the garden beside the pool! They cater to businesspeople with photocopying services, a business center, and meeting facilities. The rooms are just as classy as the lobby. They are very big, bright, and spacious, and the beds were particularly comfy! For those who enjoy the finer things in life, or want somewhere to do business while in Madrid, Melia Barajas is the spot.
Hilton Madrid Airport
We finish our list with the famous Hilton, who have a hotel at Madrid Airport, and offer a free shuttle service from the airport. They also offer a shuttle service to the city center every evening during the summer months. This gives the hotel the best of all worlds! What we love about the Hilton is its guaranteed quality. It is famous all over the world, and its Madrid branch doesn’t disappoint. Their swimming pool is unforgettable and has windows around where you can enjoy the sunset while lounging in the water! Other services include a 24-hour gym, sauna, Mediterranean-style restaurant (with Tapas!) and a sun terrace. For people who want to be close to the airport and a guaranteed fantastic hotel experience, we recommend staying here.
