The Arts Society Launches In Madrid
Enriching Lives Through the Arts
Wonderful news — The Arts Society Madrid is now taking shape, and they would love you to be part of it!
The Arts Society UK, founded in 1968, is a global arts charity with 65,000 members and 360 societies. There are societies throughout Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
Spain already enjoys several thriving societies including the Costa del Sol, Nerja, Mallorca, Menorca, De la Frontera, and Javea/ Moraira and now they are very excited to bring this thriving cultural asset to the Spanish capital.
The Arts Society, UK maintains a register of accredited lectures and from there we will sign up eight top‑tier professional speakers each year who specialise in every aspect of the arts. These presentation topics include Spanish heritage, fine arts, architecture, music, literature, cinemaphotography and performing arts.
Their mission is simple: to inform, entertain and inspire. Many describe their talks as experiences to “savour long after the event, like a Michelin- star meal”. We are currently searching for a suitable lecture space with projection facilities to seat 120 audience. Perhaps you can help?
Beyond lectures, members can enjoy Madrid’s art exhibitions and cultural visits, and relaxed social events—all wonderful opportunities to meet people who share your interests. Our goal is to create a friendly, enjoyable environment where conversation flows easily and curiosity is celebrated. These activities are designed to encourage participation from diverse international audiences in Madrid, regardless of age or background.
Membership is offered at levels to fit your lifestyle, and they encourage students to join as well. Members also receive a beautifully designed magazine three times a year, packed with fascinating articles and details of arts‑related travel across Europe.
Our website will follow the style of the Marina Alta society: www.artsocma.org — feel free to explore.
