Visitors Warned Of Prado Museum Ticket Scam

Visitors to Madrid´s world famous Prado Museum are being warned of a sophisticated ticket scam which has seen unsuspecting tourists ripped off who have purchased supposed tickets from the cloned official website.

The museum have reported the matter to the police who are investigating the site in question,

In a statement, the museum said that it had been victim of a criminal gangs´s attempt to “clone its ticket sales procedure” and have warned that the cloned website is selling non-existent tickets for 7 euros without any validity to access the museum.

The museum reiterates that only tickets purchased at the museum´s ticket office or from the museum´s website are valid.

The museum have called “for the prompt closure of the website but as of today, the site is down but still showing on search engines.

The investigation is ongoing.
